Yellows soar to new heights
Yellow Buses is preparing to fly high for the Bournemouth Air Festival – as the official transport partner.
The volunteer festival makers – easily recognisable in purple – receive free travel on the Yellows’ network during the four day show.
They are on hand to give advice and help to the hundreds of thousands of people who are expected to descend on the town.
With Bournemouth likely to be heaving with traffic, using the bus is one of the easiest and quickest ways to get around.
The festival takes place between Thursday, August 18, and Sunday, August 21, and has become a massively popular event.
Highlights this year include the Red Arrows, the Typhoon, Sally B and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
And new for 2016 are the B25 Mitchell Bomber, Strike Master and the awe-inspiring Swiss Air Force Super Puma Helicopter Display Team.
The festival includes many other events and attractions and Yellow Buses will be on hand to move thousands of people around day and night.
Jenni Wilkinson, Yellows’ Head of Marketing and Customer Excellence, said: “The air festival has grown into a huge event and for it to work the town needs to come together.
“Being the main bus operator in Bournemouth means we have an important part to play and getting the festival makers to the right place will be crucial.
“It is quite a logistical challenge to operate services during events like this and we will be transporting many thousands of people around.”
